A Shadow Play adaptation of the Indies Introduce and Indie Next debut novel by Staunton's Kalela Williams, Tangleroot tells the story of Noni Reid, a talented young woman who unwillingly moves with her mother to Central Virginia, where she lives in the home of the enslavers of their ancestors. Noni discovers the tomb of a girl her age with whom she shares a name, and is swept up in a whirlwind of the history of the town, her family, and America.

This play runs approximately two hours with a ten-minute intermission.
